Bringing figures to life with dynamic dioramas and a robotic camera.
How do you bring a little 5-inch figure to life? You make them larger than life, of course.
Using a combination of the Bolt Jr. (a programmable robot arm that controls camera settings and position) and the Laowa Macro Probe (a foot-long, ultranarrow macro lens), we were able to bring cinematic camera sweeps to a micro-scale and show off brand-new Star Wars figures in a brand-new way.
Bonus trivia: Our second hand talent fell through, so I had to step in for a couple of these scenes. Have you ever art directed while squatting below a table looking at a monitor of yourself moving your hand? It is a fascinating experience.

May this work bewitch you.
